The Border Lily Red, Lilium Border 'Red', is a fantastic bright red that will add style and elegance to any yard! These little Asiatic Lilies are perfect near the front of the border where their blooms max out at only two-feet tall! Border Lily Red is perfectly suited to use as a landscape color because the plants are uniform in height, bloom time, and color. These hardy bulbs require only minimal care. Each has the capacity to grow, eventually, into a large cluster of flowers. They're very hardy, and are not particularly fussy about soil, as long as it drains well. They grow best in full sun. The flower "just grew " ! I did not purposely plant it . It has a fairly large irregular shaped grey-black bulb from which it grows . Its pretty . It flowers July through till November - but only if there are no frosts to suddenly end its annual activity .

Out of the blue, my 3-year-old 'Red Lion' amaryllis bloomed. The flowers are huge!

The bulbs can be purchased at most hardware stores around December for $2-3.
